Five of six Facebook measures went up.

An honest monthly report for an owner-led plumbing and heating business.

The result at a glance

22.1KFacebook views
15calls from the Google profile in three months
90.1%of ad appearances above the free listings

What happened during the month

The month began with too little new material from site. Posts still went out, but they did not give customers enough reason to stop and respond. Once the engineers started sending real job photos and updates, views, visits, clicks and follows rose within days.

Google pay per lead ads were paused while Google completed a check on the account. They were switched back on when that was resolved. The Google Business Profile continued to improve underneath.

The Facebook figures

For the reporting period from 3 to 30 July, five of the six main measures increased. Interactions fell, and the report said that plainly rather than hiding it.

22.1Kviews, up 3.1%
8.5Kpeople reached, up 10.5%
442page visits, up 18.2%
37link clicks, up 100%
16new follows, up 45.5%
146interactions, down 31.1%

The Google figures

Across May to July, the Google Business Profile recorded 67 interactions and 15 calls, with July the strongest month. During a partial ad period, the ads appeared 650 times. They showed above the free listings 90.1% of the time and appeared first 34.2% of the time.

The useful next step

The report did not end with charts. It showed that better site photos had already improved the social figures, while Google review numbers were still holding back the ads. The next plan was simple: regular job photos, short videos and ten new Google reviews.
